Training and Sending Short-term Teams

Short-term ministry trips expose your church members to needs beyond their borders and provide them with hands-on ministry opportunities they never dreamed of.

However, a number of pitfalls exist that are not easily avoided. Obtaining passports, visas, inoculations, transferring funds, reserving hotels and securing transportation are not always straight forward. Believe it or not, areas still exist in this world where credit cards are useless! A successful short-term ministry experience requires team building, leadership, program planning and working out details with workers on the field. Short-termers need training before they leave, organization and pacing during the trip, and debriefing when they return.

WEC Link is here to help your church give its members short-term ministry experiences they will want to sign up for again. Our involvement ranges from merely giving advice to actually sending personnel to train, travel with and debrief short-term teams. Knowing your church has unique challenges and vision we want to adjust our program to fit your needs.

WEC works in over 70 countries. This allows us to offer a large variety of location and ministry options. We also have the flexibility to adjust trip lengths according to your church’s time frame. Teams whose trips are longer than one month may be advised to partner with WEC Trek, which has its own well-developed program of screening, orientation, debrief and follow-up.
