Begin the process by phoning, e-mailing or filling out the contact form on this page.
Continue communicating with us as we get to know you, assess your readiness for the field and answer questions. We may contact the field you’re interested in to see if possibilities exist for you to serve there.
After assessing your readiness to begin the application process, we’ll e-mail you an application.
When we receive your application we’ll contact your references. These are an important part of your application process.
We expect our candidates to have a sending church behind them. We depend on feedback about you from your sending church.
After receiving the application, references and recommendation from your sending church, our committee will review your application to determine if you look like a good fit for WEC.
Upon the committee’s recommendation, we will send the next set of forms to complete, including questions about doctrine. During this phase, you as a potential candidate will also submit fingerprints for police clearance and get a physical to assess overall health and suitability for your field of service.
Once the second phase of the application has been returned, our committee will again review your application.
If you and the committee feel that WEC is a good fit, and there is a potential field placement, you will be invited to attend Candidate Orientation.
Candidate Orientation is held twice a year for 13–15 weeks. During this time, you and WEC will get to know each other through worship and prayer, classes, working side-by-side and living in community together. This process includes mutual assessment of your fit with, and suitability for missionary service with WEC.
We will talk together at various points during CO to assess readiness for the field, WEC, etc. At the end of CO, a formal invitation to join WEC will be given
